Aston Martin DB11 - Tailored Detailing

Not every vehicle needs a standardised service.

This Aston Martin DB11 required a more considered approach. The car had already received a dealership-applied ceramic coating, but on inspection the coverage was not fully consistent. Certain exterior areas had been missed, and the wheels had only been coated on the visible faces. For a vehicle of this level, that was not a finish I was prepared to leave uneven.

The brief therefore became clear: deep clean, decontaminate, refine the protected areas, and bring the overall finish back into line with what the car should have received in the first place.

The exterior was first safely cleaned and chemically decontaminated to remove bonded contamination and prepare the surfaces properly. With the paintwork stripped back to a clean foundation, the missed areas of ceramic protection could then be addressed. Additional ceramic coating was applied where needed so that the vehicle would respond with a more consistent water pattern and more uniform protection across the bodywork.

One of the most significant parts of this service sat away from immediate view.

The wheels were removed so the surrounding areas could be treated properly rather than simply cleaned around. The wheel arches were deep cleaned, and the inner wheel barrels and brake callipers were coated with a dedicated ceramic coating suited to those higher-contamination areas. This is the sort of detail that changes how a car presents over time, not just how it looks on the day.

Further attention was given to the DB11’s removable vent sections, accessed via the boot. These components were removed, cleaned individually, and refitted, allowing the hidden areas around them to be dealt with correctly. It is a small detail in the wider picture, but it reflects the difference between a surface-level valet and a service that is actually tailored to the vehicle’s design.

The engine bay was also detailed, restoring cleanliness and order to an area that should never be ignored on a prestige car. Exterior plastic trim was then treated with UV protection to help resist fading while restoring a richer, more finished appearance.

Inside, the cabin was carefully cleaned and presented, but the leather was intentionally left without ceramic coating at the client’s request. That decision was respected fully. On a car like this, preserving the interior exactly as the manufacturer intended can matter just as much as adding protection, and the aim is always to support the ownership experience rather than impose a one-size-fits-all process.

The end result was a far more complete and coherent finish. Protection was no longer partial, hidden areas had been properly addressed, and the car now carries the sort of presentation that better suits an Aston Martin.

This was not about chasing gloss for the sake of it. It was about giving the DB11 the level of attention its design and condition deserved, and ensuring that every visible and non-visible detail felt considered.
